Acyclica is dedicated to the security of your data. All data is transmitted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.2 encryption. Data uploads will fail if a man-in-the-middle certificate is used on the network.
Sensors periodically check for new firmware at https://data.acyclica.com. If a new firmware is available, the sensor will download files and instructions related to the upgrade. When the sensor verifies that it has downloaded all of the files and that they are fully intact, it will proceed with the installation of the upgrade. After the new files have been installed, the sensor will reboot to complete the upgrade and send a message to https://data.acyclica.com indicating that it has finished.
Note: all firmware upgrade requests are outbound. The server never contacts a sensor to instruct it to update the firmware.
